Five axes refer to the three moving axes x, y, zand other two freely-rotary axes. Compared to the machining of commonthree-axis(x,y,z three free degree), five-axismachining means the machining tool can be connected and located in five freedegrees when machining the complicated parts with geometric shapes.

The machine tool used for five-axis machining is usuallycalled five-axis machine tool or five-axis machining center. The five-axiamachining is comonly used in the avigation field, process of the body &parts, turbine parts and impellers with freeform surfaces. The five-axis machinetool can process the different sides of workpiece without changing its positionon the machine tool, improving the processing efficiency of prismatic partsgreatly.
